SCRIPTURE READING: ACTS 12: 1-23

FOCUS: “And the angel said unto him, Gird thyself, and bind on thy sandals. And so he did. And he saith unto him, Cast thy garment about thee, and follow me.” (Acts 12: 8)

MEMORY VERSE: “Be thou prepared, and prepare for thyself, thou, and all thy company that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a guard unto them.” (Ezekiel 38: 7)

In our Focal Scripture, the Angel of the Lord instructed Peter to wear his sandals. It may have been okay to not wear the sandals at the time when Peter was tied in chains; but when it was time to leave the prison, the Angel asked him to wear his sandals. Wearing of sandals was a preparation for movement. So, put differently, the Angel instructed Peter to get ready to move. Peter was to prepare for a season of movement.

Friend, it’s not enough for El Roi to see you. Also prepare to move. Prepare for the movement you have been desiring. Prepare for the doors and gates that are about to open. Prepare for the new season that is opening up for you. Prepare for the higher levels that you are about to rise to. Prepare for the movements that God would have you make. Prepare to leave the prison and move closer to your assignment. Prepare to move.

Peter was going to walk all the way out of prison; he was going to walk all the way to the iron gate that led to the city; he was going to walk all the way to where the church was praying, and he needed to wear his sandals. He needed to prepare to move because there was a long journey ahead of him. One major reason why you need to prepare, is that you have a great journey ahead of you. Your journey needs your preparation.

Start preparing for that journey that will take you to the top. Start building capacity quietly where eyes cannot see. Start building the capacity that will ensure your longevity when you eventually get to the top. Start cutting off whatever has the capacity to ruin your rising. Start imbibing whatever has the capacity to keep you on the move. Build capacity that will enable you to move. Build capacity that will ensure that you are not stagnated.

Peter prepared to move, and when the movement began, there was no stopping. Prepare to move, and there will be no stopping you.
