SCRIPTURE READING: MATTHEW 13: 24-30
FOCUS: “Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:” (Matthew 13: 24)
MEMORY VERSE: “If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?” (Psalm 11: 3)
In our Focal Scripture, the kingdom of heaven is likened to a man who sowed good seed in his field. This man had seed, and had a field which he tilled and planted his seed. One of the things that the soil does for the seed when it is planted, is to protect the root of the seed. Seed that has been planted, gets to form its root in the soil, before it sprouts where eyes can see it. So the soil, being an opportunity, is one that protects the root of the seed.
Friend, I pray for you: may God send you opportunities that will cover your roots. May God send you opportunities that will keep your foundation intact. May God send you opportunities that will keep you protected within God’s will for you. May God send you opportunities that will shield you. May God send you opportunities that will not allow your future to be in jeopardy. May your opportunities keep you.
You will not get opportunities that will destroy your foundation. You will not get opportunities that will swallow the totality of who God has destined you to be. God won’t bring you into any bliss that will cause a glitch in your spirit man. God won’t bring you to places that will derail your destiny. God won’t allow you to walk into opportunities that will uproot you from where He planted you. God won’t allow your foundation to crumble.
No matter how high you go in your journey, never make the mistake of jeopardizing your foundation. Don’t sacrifice your foundation in a bid to gain physical achievements. Don’t sacrifice your foundation in Christ because of things that are ephemeral. Don’t seek to be relevant at the expense of your foundation. If it will win you accolades but disrupt your walk with God, take a walk. If it will compromise your tomorrow, say no to it.
This is that season where you must be intentional to value your foundation more than ever before. If your foundation be destroyed, nothing will remain on it.
