SCRIPTURE READING: LUKE 7: 11-17
FOCUS: ““And it came to pass the day after, that he went into a city called Nain; and many of his disciples went with him, and much people.” (Luke 7: 11)
MEMORY VERSE: “Behold, at that time I will undo all that afflict thee: and I will save her that halteth, and gather her that was driven out; and I will get them praise and fame in every land where they have been put to shame.” (Zephaniah 3: 19)
Our Focal Scripture speaks of that moment when Jesus entered into the city of Nain. It was in Nain that a young man who had died, was being taken out of the city for a funeral. The word ‘Nain’, among other things, means ‘pleasantness’ or ‘beauty’. So in an environment that was meant to be beautiful, negativity befell the young man who was to be buried. In a place that had a name for being good, the reality was negativity for the young man.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not be an example of one in a good place but with bad experiences. You will not be an example of one who is in a good city but caught in misfortunes. Your life will not be a contradiction of the goodness of God. It will never be said that you have an identity for goodness, but a reality of misfortunes. It will never be said that you were in a good place but faced the worst of experiences.
Nain had a name for being pleasant, but an unpleasant reality befell the young man who passed away. He missed out of the goodness of the land he was in. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not miss out of the goodness of God in the land where you are. You will not be in a good place and not be a partaker of the good things in that good place. You will be a partaker of whatever goodness and good news God put in your land.
Every plan of the enemy to make your life a contradiction of the goodness of God, I decree, it will not come to pass. Every plot of the enemy to make you tell tales of misfortune instead of goodness, I decree, it will not prevail. You will not call upon the name of the Lord and end up in shame. You will not walk with God and face afflictions from the enemy. You will not have the identity of Christ and live with satanic or demonic realities.
Welcome to that season where your identity in Christ will be in sync with your realities. Welcome to that season where no satanic contradiction will prevail over your life.
