SCRIPTURE READING: 1 SAMUEL 30: 1-20

FOCUS: “So David went, he and the six hundred men that were with him, and came to the brook Besor, where those that were left behind stayed.” (1 Samuel 30: 9)

MEMORY VERSE: “Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:” (Psalm 144: 1)

After the lamentations of David, and after the episode of those who spoke of stoning him, he encouraged himself in the Lord and eventually went after the Amalekites. Notice that David did not go alone. He went in the company of men as mentioned in our Focal Scripture. He went in the company of men who were willing to fight for him. David was blessed with a generation of men who were ready to fight on his behalf.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: receive the gift of men who are willing to fight battles on your behalf. Receive the gift of men who are willing to take battles to the gates of your enemies. Receive the gift of men who are willing to crush obstacles on your behalf. Receive the gift of men who are willing to trouble your troublers on your behalf. Receive the gift of men who are willing to risk their own safety in order to work in your favour.

David had a battle to fight with the Amalekites, and he was blessed with men who were willing to take the battle personal and go all the way with him. He wouldn’t have been able to fight alone, and it wouldn’t have been easy for him to fight alone, and he had the gift of men who made victory to become easier. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you are about to receive the gift of men who will cause your victory to come easily.

At the end of the battle against the Amalekites, David took spoils out of the battlefield. David experienced increase as a result of the battle. So those men who stood by him were men who fought so that David could experience increase. Hear me as I hear the Lord: may you receive the gift of men who will fight the battles that will lead to your increase. May you receive the gift of men who will fight for your elevation and congratulations.

Welcome to that new season where gallant men will fight on your behalf. Receive the gift of men who are willing to risk everything for you to be favoured.
