SCRIPTURE READING: MARK 10: 46-52

FOCUS: “And many charged him that he should hold his peace: but he cried the more a great deal, Thou Son of David, have mercy on me.” (Mark 10: 48)

MEMORY VERSE: “For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” (Romans 10: 10)

When Bartimaeus cried out to Jesus, there were many who charged him to hold his peace. People heard him crying out to Jesus, so that he can be healed, and they tried to hush him. They literally did not want him to be heard by Jesus. They did not want his voice to be heard. Crying out to Jesus was what brought his answers. So in telling him to shut up, they did not want him to receive his answers. They wanted to silence him.

Friend, there will always be people whose mission is to silence you. There will always be people whose agenda is to make you stay in hiding. There will always be people whose desire is to make you not to be heard in destiny. Some see your ‘blindness’ and are making conscious efforts to ensure that you never get healed. Some see where you need the mercy of God, and if they had their way, God will not show you mercy.

Notice that the more they tried to shut up Bartimaeus, the more he cried out. He did not give in to those who wanted to silence him. He didn’t accept to remain silent in destiny. Don’t give in to the wishes of those who want to silence you. If they have a problem with your voice, scream even more. If they want you to remain hidden, disappoint them by showing up again and again. Don’t let men silence you or cancel you.

Did you notice that the breakthrough of Bartimaeus came when he refused to keep silent in the face of those who wanted to hush him? He kept pressing despite their negative voices, and help came sooner than expected. If you will be intentional to keep at your journey despite the discouraging voices, help will come your way sooner than later. If you refuse to be discouraged by the negative voices, you will win.

Don’t let the wicked voices of your naysayers to make you halt your mission. Don’t let them drown your voice. Don’t let them push you into oblivion.
