SCRIPTURE READING: 1 SAMUEL 17: 1-53
FOCUS: “8. …choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me. 9. If he be able to fight with me, and to kill me, then will we be your servants: but if I prevail against him, and kill him, then shall ye be our servants, and serve us.” (1 Samuel 17: 8-9)
MEMORY VERSE: “In righteousness shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.” (Isaiah 54: 14)
In our Focal Scripture, Goliath suggested that the armies of Israel should send him one man to fight with, and he suggested that if the man was able to kill him, the Philistines would become servants of Saul, but if he killed the man, the children of Israel would be his servants. Goliath wanted to create an arrangement where one man’s loss would send the entire nation into bondage. He wanted the army to suffer as victims of one man’s defeat.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not be a victim of one man’s mistake. You will not have your destiny cut short because of the error of one man. You will not have doors shut at you because of what one man was unable to do. You will not have your destiny diminished because of the failure of one man. You will not be stagnated because of the weakness of one man. You will not suffer because of one man’s decision.
By Goliath’s idea, once one man was brought forth to fight with him and he won the man, it wouldn’t matter if there were brave soldiers in the army of Israel. They would all have to become his servants because one man lost. He sought to shut down the destinies of an entire nation because of the failure of one man. I pray for you: you will not be a victim of another man’s mistake. You will not be a victim of what another man lost.
Every plan of the enemy to make you a victim, I decree, it will not stand. Every plot to shut down your advancement because of one man, I decree, it will not stand. Every arrangement of hell to limit your rising and make it all about one man, I decree, it will not stand. You will not be enslaved because of what one man did. You will not be rejected because of one man. You will not suffer destiny dislocation because of one man.
Welcome to that season where your chances will not be limited by the choices or actions of one man. You will not be a victim of what another man did not do right.
