WALK BY REVELATION

SCRIPTURE READING: LUKE 18: 35-43

FOCUS: “37. And they told him, that Jesus of Nazareth passeth by. 38. And he cried, saying, Jesus, thou Son of David, have mercy on me.” (Luke 18: )

MEMORY VERSE: “The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints,” (Ephesians 1: 18)

When the blind man who sat and begged heard the multitude that was passing by and what it meant, he was told that it was Jesus or Nazareth; but when he cried out, he screamed “Jesus, son of David, have mercy on me”. The blind man was told about Jesus who lived in Nazareth, but he called out to Jesus, son of David. Jesus son of David, speaks of Jesus’ Messianic mandate. So, the blind beggar connected to the Messianic revelation.

Friend, what is your revelation of Jesus? Do you see Him as Jesus of Nazareth, or Jesus, son of David? Do you see Him from the point of His ability to do more than you could ever ask or think? Do you have a revelation and understanding of the power of God at work in you? Do you have a revelation of the ministry of the Spirit of God? Do you have a revelation of what the Lord is able to do in your situation? What is your revelation of Jesus?

Some people followed Jesus because they knew Him in Nazareth, but the blind beggar called out to Jesus, son of David, and he got attention. Those who came on the heels of their familiarity with Jesus, got nothing; but the one who came by revelation, had his situation turn around. Following Jesus from the place of familiarity will leave you empty handed; but when you follow from the place of revelation, He will turn things around for you.

Understanding the power of God will empower and embolden you to demand more from Him than you ever have. Those who believe in the power of God will demand more from Him than those who have no idea of how His power works. Those who believe in the power of God, will access more and more of His power. To know the power of God is to embrace the miraculous. To know the power of God is to know mind blowing wonders.

Be intentional to continuously increase your revelation of Jesus. What you see in Jesus will determine what you will receive through Him.
