SCRIPTURE READING: MATTHEW 13: 24-30
FOCUS: “Another parable put he forth unto them, saying, The kingdom of heaven is likened unto a man which sowed good seed in his field:” (Matthew 13: 24)
MEMORY VERSE: “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” (Galatians 6: 7)
Our Focal Scripture tells the tale of the parable of the kingdom, wherein a man sowed good seed in his field. The seed that this man was going to sow, was called ‘good seed’. The seed that was about to be sown, were called good seed. The character of the seed that this man was set to sow, was good. What the man was about to plant, was good. What he wanted to sow, in order to birth a harvest, was good. He only had good seeds.
Friend, be intentional to sow good seed. It’s not enough to sow; it’s not enough to plant. The question would be, what manner of seed are you sowing? What manner of impact are you making? What manner of legacy are you leaving? What manner of examples are you setting? What manner of character are you known for? What manner of feeling are you leaving behind in your trail? What is the quality of your seed?
Good seed will fetch you a good harvest; so also, bad seed will fetch you a bad harvest. Look inwards and do some self assessment. Are you truly planting good seed or bad seed? Are you sowing seeds that will birth a positive harvest, or seeds that will fetch you a negative harvest? Are you sowing seeds that will make a positive difference, or seeds that will create bitter tears in future? Are your seeds really worth sowing?
May it never be said that you sowed seeds of dishonour and disrespect. May it never be said that you sowed seeds of immorality. May it never be said that you sowed seed of wickedness. May it never be said that you are remembered in the market place for your incompetence, insensitivity, immorality, inconsistency, wickedness, hatred, bitterness, etc. May it never be said that your seeds are such that will fetch a negative harvest.
Kingdom is about good seeds, not bad seeds. As much as it lies within your power, avoid sowing bad seeds. Avoid the seeds that will fetch you future regrets.
