NO MORE FEARS

SCRIPTURE READING: MATTHEW 28: 1-15

FOCUS: “And the angel answered and said unto the women, Fear not ye: for I know that ye seek Jesus, which was crucified.” (Matthew 28: 5)

MEMORY VERSE: “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Hebrews 11: 6)

Our Focal Scripture makes mention of that moment when the Angel of the Lord told the women not to fear. There were subsequent conversations and communications between the angel and the women, but he first instructed them not to fear. They were not going to receive the word of the Lord with fear. Fear was not going to let them embrace divine direction. Fear was not going to let them accept the reality of the Angel’s words.

Friend, fear will not let you believe the word of the Lord. Fear will not allow you to become all that God says you will become. Fear will not allow you to embrace divine direction. Fear will not allow you to see the realities in God’s word when your circumstances speak otherwise. Fear will not allow you to win the battles that God Himself has empowered you to win. Fear will most definitely cripple your faith.

Jesus had risen from the dead, and those women were not going to make the most of that reality if they remained afraid. Their fear was addressed before the unveiling of the new realities that came with Jesus’ resurrection. You may not be getting ready for the new realities that God has destined for you if you remain obsessed with your fears. You may not make any progress if you enthrone your fears and doubts.

When you elevate your fears, you undermine your faith. When you choose fear, you create the atmosphere that multiplies negativity. When you choose fear, you choose negativity. When you choose fear, you subvert the plans of God that require your faith to be birthed. When you choose fear, you suggest that God is not able to do what He said. When you choose fear, you are simply using faith in the wrong direction.

Choose faith over fear. Don’t allow your fears to cripple your faith. Even if you are afraid, speak in faith; never speak your fears.
