SCRIPTURE READING: EXODUS 1: 15-21

FOCUS: “And the king of Egypt spake to the Hebrew midwives, of which the name of the one was Shiphrah, and the name of the other Puah:” (Exodus 1: 15)

MEMORY VERSE: “Shall I bring to the birth, and not cause to bring forth? saith the LORD: shall I cause to bring forth, and shut the womb? saith thy God.” (Isaiah 66: 9)

Our Focal Scripture makes mention of how Pharaoh spoke to the Hebrew midwives. Midwives help other women to bring forth their children. Pregnant women need midwives to help them through the journey of pushing forth their child. Midwives know when a baby is coming in the wrong posture, and they handle it. A mother could even be in danger, but the midwife is to the rescue. One who has a baby to birth, needs a midwife.

Friend, I pray for you: may God position midwives around you who will help you to bring to birth what you have within you. May God position people around you who will enable you to bring your capacity to birth. May God send you helpers that will cause your dreams to come to reality. May God send you midwives who will save you from the danger you may not be aware of. May God send you midwives that will save your harvest.

Sometimes, in the process of childbirth, the midwife needs to tell the mother to push harder so that the child can come forth. Even if the mother feels like giving up, it is the job of the midwife to ensure that there is no giving up. I pray for you: may God send you men who will push you hard enough so that you can bring forth the right results. May God send you men who will not let you rest until your ‘child’ is born.

There are times when, in the course of childbirth, a baby is coming in the wrong posture. The mother may not know, but the midwife knows, and helps the mother to avoid losing what is coming forth. Again, I pray for you: may God send you men who will save you from the danger of losing what God has given you. May God send you saviours who will ensure that your destiny does not suffer loss. May God send you the right midwives.

May it never be said that you had something to bring forth, but lacked the destiny midwives to make it happen. May you not suffer the misfortune of lacking destiny midwives.
