SCRIPTURE READING: EXODUS 1: 15-21

FOCUS: “But the midwives feared God, and did not as the king of Egypt commanded them, but saved the men children alive.” (Exodus 1: 17)

MEMORY VERSE: “16. These six things doth the LORD hate: yea, seven are an abomination unto him: 17. A proud look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed innocent blood,” (Proverbs 6: 16-17)

Prior to our Focal Scripture, Pharaoh had contacted the Hebrew midwives and desired that they should kill the male children of the Hebrew women. Notice that in our Focal Scripture, the Hebrew midwives refused to do the bidding of Pharaoh. They refused to be the hands that will kill the children of Hebrew women. They were Hebrew midwives, and they refused to kill Hebrew children. They refused to kill their own.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: never be a party to kill your own. Never get involved in undermining your own. Never get involved in the plot for another man’s destiny reduction. Never be recruited to do damage to someone who has done nothing to you. Don’t kill what God has given you to nurture. Don’t kill what God has given you to preserve. Don’t kill what you are appointed to save. Don’t kill the progress of others.

If you have been redeemed with the blood of Jesus, then never be the reason why another who has been redeemed, will die. Don’t be the source of another man’s bitter tears. Don’t be the one that will cause another believer to dwell in pain. Don’t be counted amongst those who brought pain to their own. Don’t kill your own with slander. Don’t kill your own with rejection. Don’t kill your own with lies. Don’t kill your own.

These sons of the Hebrew women were about to be birthed, they were in the place of transition, but Pharaoh wanted them to be killed. The Hebrew midwives were going to be used to undermine the transition of their own. Never be a party to undermine people who are in their season of transition. Don’t be the one to fight a man that is about to move to the next level. Don’t be the one to fight anyone whom God has chosen to elevate.

Remember, you are meant to build, not to destroy; you are meant to raise, not to reduce. You are meant to add value; don’t be the one to subtract value.
