SCRIPTURE READING: JUDGES 16: 1-31
FOCUS: “And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.” (Judges 16: 3)
MEMORY VERSE: “That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man;” (Ephesians 3: 16)
Our Focal Scripture captures an uncommon display of strength by Samson. At a time when his enemies were waiting to make him a victim, Samson arose in the midnight and took the gate of the city, with the pillars, and went up a hill. Samson’s used strength to intimidate his enemies. His show of strength literally made it unnecessary to even fight with him. He showed strength that silenced and defeated his enemies.
Friend, if you dare to walk in strength, you will perpetually defeat your enemies. If you walk in the strength of God in your inner man, you will put the enemies of your destiny to flight. If you dare to wear the strength of God like a garment, you will tear down the altars of hell, you will crush under your feet every adversary that arises against you, you will make the enemy your footstool, and you will win perpetually.
The strength of Samson was in the locks of his hair. His strength could be touched, and taken away. Notice that for the New Testament believer, strength is beyond the physical. There is such a thing as strength in the inner man. There is strength that comes by the Spirit of God. If you dare to walk in strength, you will trounce the enemy on all levels. The strength in you is your empowerment to dominate in your environment.
You were not created to function without the strength of God. You were not wired to defeat the enemy with weakness. You were wired by El Roi, to win by the might in your inner man. Anything that causes you to lose strength on your inside, is preparing you to be defeated by the enemy. Whatever goes against your strength, is going against your victory, and ultimately preparing you for defeat. Your strength is your seed for victory.
Welcome to that season where your strength will not and must never fail. Welcome to that season where you will defeat the enemy as you walk in strength.
