SCRIPTURE READING: 2 KINGS 9: 21-37
FOCUS: “And he said, Throw her down. So they threw her down: and some of her blood was sprinkled on the wall, and on the horses: and he trode her under foot.” (2 Kings 9: 33)
MEMORY VERSE: “Come down, and sit in the dust, O virgin daughter of Babylon, sit on the ground: there is no throne, O daughter of the Chaldeans: for thou shalt no more be called tender and delicate.” (Isaiah 47: 1)
In our Focal Scripture, Jehu commanded that Jezebel be thrown down. So, at this point, Jezebel was in a high place, looking out from the window of the palace. It was time for her to go down, but she rather went up. It was time for her to be wiped out of the face of the earth, but she rather went up to a place where she could speak from the window. It was time for her to be cut off, but she gave herself a vantage position symbolic of kingship.
Notice that Jehu was not about to start negotiating with Jezebel; he simply ordered that she be thrown down. Jehu had a mandate to bring down Jezebel, and he did just that with no arguments. He was meant to execute judgement on the house of Ahab, and particularly wipe out Jezebel, and he did just that. Jehu commanded that the wicked person who had a high placement, be brought down. He commanded a throwing down.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: every system of hell that is due to go down, I decree, it will no longer find space at the top. Every wickedness that wants to take center stage, I command it to go down. I command every wickedness that is standing in high places, to go down. I command every satanic system that is ruling in high places, to go down. I command every negativity that has exalted itself, to go down.
Hear me as I hear the Lord: no wickedness shall operate in high places. I command every sickness to go down. I command every affliction to go down. I command every struggle to go down. I command every trouble in your marriage, finances, health, career, business, ministry, etc. to go down. The same way Jezebel’s time was up, and she had to be thrown down, I decree that the time for negativity in high places has ended, and it must go down.
It will never be said that any Jezebel remained in high places over your life. It will never be said that darkness and wickedness found space in high places.
