SCRIPTURE READING: LUKE 8: 26-39

FOCUS: “(For he had commanded the unclean spirit to come out of the man. For oftentimes it had caught him: and he was kept bound with chains and in fetters; and he brake the bands, and was driven of the devil into the wilderness.)” (Luke 8: 29)

MEMORY VERSE: “I will open rivers in high places, and fountains in the midst of the valleys: I will make the wilderness a pool of water, and the dry land springs of water.” (Isaiah 41: 18)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of how the man with unclean spirits was driven by the devil into the wilderness. Because of the demonic affliction upon his life, he often went in directions that took him to the wilderness. He journeyed into the place of dryness. He made progress in the direction of dryness and emptiness. It would seem that he was on the move, but his movement took him to a place where there were no results waiting for him.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not dwell in dryness. You will not journey into the wilderness. You will not dwell in unfruitful places. You will not live in places that swallow and stifle your results. You will not be counted amongst them that dwell in darkness and dryness. You will not move into obscurity. You will not be caught in the web of the wilderness. You will not move from the city to the wilderness.

Notice that this man did not ordinarily choose to be in a dry place. He was actually driven by the devil into the wilderness. He was forced, against his own wishes, into the place of dryness. Hear me as I hear the Lord: every force of hell that is forcing you into the place of dryness, I command that forced movement to cease. I command every forceful push of your destiny, career, business, ministry, family, etc. into dryness, to cease.

It is the will of God that you prosper and be in health even as your soul prospers. It is the will of God that you will have life and have it more abundantly. It is not the will of God that you will dwell in the place of emptiness and dryness. It is not the will of God that you will be caught in the web of unfruitfulness. Wherever you have journeyed into dryness, I command a reversal. I decree, you move from dryness back into fruitfulness.

Welcome to that season where you will have nothing to do with the wilderness. Welcome to that season where you will not dwell in emptiness, nor journey into dryness.
