SCRIPTURE READING: 1 KINGS 19: 1-8, 18
FOCUS: “But he himself went a day’s journey into the wilderness, and came and sat down under a juniper tree: and he requested for himself that he might die; and said, It is enough; now, O LORD, take away my life; for I am not better than my fathers.” (1 Kings 19: 4)
MEMORY VERSE: “And the LORD shall guide thee continually, and satisfy thy soul in drought, and make fat thy bones: and thou shalt be like a watered garden, and like a spring of water, whose waters fail not.” (Isaiah 58: 11)
When Elijah received the threat of Jezebel after his exploits on Mount Carmel, he journeyed into the wilderness. Elijah journeyed into dryness. Someone who had just done mighty works for the Lord, and made the name of the Lord famous, was suddenly caught in a journey into the wilderness. Elijah moved from exploits to the place of dryness. Exploits made way for dryness. The story of exploits was replaced with a journey of dryness.
The spirit of Jezebel is that spirit that says that your successes must be followed by dryness. The spirit of Jezebel says you may succeed, but dryness will follow. The spirit of Jezebel says you may hit your targets and celebrate, but dryness must soon follow afterwards. The spirit of Jezebel says you may rise higher, but your rising must be followed by bad news of emptiness. The spirit of Jezebel wants you in the place of dryness.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: in 2026, you will not walk in dryness. You will not dwell in dry places. You will not move from good news to dryness. You will not move from great results to emptiness. Your successes will not be followed by emptiness. Your congratulations will not be mixed with dryness. Your elevation will not land you in the places where nothing is working. You will not end in the wilderness; you will not end in dryness.
The same man who shone like a million stars in 1 Kings 18, upon Mount Carmel, was the same man who was forced to retreat into the wilderness in 1 Kings 19, all because of Jezebel. Hear me as I hear the Lord: any power of hell that says you will have a better yesterday, I say no. Any power of darkness that wants to chase you into dry places, I decree, it will not prevail. You are made for the city, not for the wilderness. You are made for high places.
Welcome to your season of plenty. Welcome to your wealthy place. You are forbidden from dwelling in dryness in 2026.
