MERCY PREVAILS

SCRIPTURE READING: LUKE 18: 1-8
FOCUS: “And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith.” (Luke 18: 6)
MEMORY VERSE: “For he shall have judgment without mercy, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgment.” (James 2: 13)
Our Focal Scripture throws light on the identity of the unjust judge. This person who was designated as part of the judicial system, was termed an unjust judge. Psalm 7 vs. 11 describes God as a just judge. So, the unjust judge represented a system that simply eschewed the nature of God. The unjust judge represented a judicial system that did not have the compassion of God. He represented a system that dispensed judgement without mercy.
Friend, I pray for you: may it never be said that you faced judgement without mercy. May it never be said that you faced the judgement of men without the mercy of God. May it never be said that judgement came your way but didn’t incorporate mercy. May it never be said that you faced unrighteous judgements. May it never be said that what came to you as judgement was not filtered by the grace and mercy of God.
Recall that this unjust judge said that he did not fear God and did not regard mere mortals. The unjust judge was a part of the judicial system that had no room for God to have his way. I pray for you: let the mercy of God trounce the negative verdicts that are against you. Let the Lord arise against any wicked hand that is stretched against you. Let the Lord silence every voice of opposition that is positioned against you.
The mercy of God has prevailed, and will continually prevail over every wicked judgement that is not in your favour. The mercy of God will swallow every system that wants to swallow you. The mercy of God will defeat every conspiracy that wants to defeat you. The mercy of God will make a way where there is no way. The mercy of God will disappoint the devices of those who want to use the systems of this world against you.
Welcome to that season where the mercies of God will swallow the wicked judgements that are against you. Welcome to that season where mercy will prevail over judgement.
