SCRIPTURE READING: MARK 2: 1-12
FOCUS: “When Jesus saw their faith, he said unto the sick of the palsy, Son, thy sins be forgiven thee.” (Mark 2: 5)
MEMORY VERSE: “For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.” (Romans 1: 17)
Our Focal Scripture speaks of how Jesus saw the faith of those who carried the paralytic man, and He proclaimed forgiveness of sins upon that man. Jesus saw the faith of people who came through for the paralytic man, and He decided to act on behalf of the paralytic man. Some people’s faith prompted Jesus to take action in favour of the paralytic man. Some people’s faith opened the door of healing and redemption.
Friend, did you know that your faith could birth someone else’s miracle? Did you know that your faith in God could be His reason to intervene in someone else’s predicament? Did you know that your faith could open new doors and gates for other people? Did you know that your faith could be the reason why someone else is about to rise to their high places? Did you know that your faith could be the platform for divine intervention for others?
The four friends stretched themselves until they brought their friend to the feet of Jesus. They took steps of faith, and when Jesus saw their faith, He healed the paralytic man. The paralytic man may not even have had any ounce of faith in him, but the faith of his friends saved the day. Did you know that even when people connected to you do not have faith, your own faith can make all the difference? Your faith can work for the faithless.
Be intentional with your faith. You are not just believing God on your own behalf. You are believing Him on behalf of those who do not, or cannot believe. You are believing God on behalf of those who have lost hope and faith. You are believing God on behalf of those with little faith. You are believing God on behalf of those who need miracles but lack the faith to push for it. You are believing God on behalf of people who need your belief to thrive.
Remember those who are depending on your faith, and keep believing. Trust God on behalf of those who are unable to trust. Have faith on the behalf of those who have lost theirs.
