SCRIPTURE READING: JOHN 5: 1-14

FOCUS: “He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.” (John 5: 11)

MEMORY VERSE: “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.” (Hebrews 11: 6)

In our Focal Scripture, the man who was healed at the pool of Bethesda made reference to “He that made him whole”. He didn’t even call Him Jesus. He seemed not to have known who Jesus was. He was not like blind Bartimaeus who knew Jesus ahead of time. The man at the pool did not know Jesus, but he believed what Jesus said. It may not have been all clear to him, but he believed. He had faith, though without knowing Jesus.

Friend, there will be times when you won’t have the full picture of why you should believe, but still believe. God’s word may not always be clear to you, but just believe. You may not be able to reconcile God’s word with realities, but just believe. There may be situations that will leave you confused, but still believe. Keep believing even when you are not sure of the way to go. Keep believing even when there is no reason to believe.

The man at the pool may not have realized that Jesus was the One who came to him, but he believed nonetheless. His knowledge was not enough, but he still believed. When your knowledge is not enough, still believe. A major passcode for the New Covenant, is faith. We believe even when we do not know what God is about to do. We believe even when there are circumstances that are contrary. We believe against all odds.

Keep trusting God for the fulfillment of every word He has spoken concerning your life. Keep trusting God for the impossible. Trust God for what man cannot do. Trust God for the doors He is set to open to you. Trust God for the unveiling of your new season. Things will not always turn out the way you planned, but trust God for the best. Trust God even when circumstances suggest otherwise. Trust God even if no one else trusts.

This is that season when you need to trust even if you do not have all the knowledge that should make you trust God. Keep trusting God; keep believing against all odds.
