GO QUICKLY

SCRIPTURE READING: MATTHEW 28: 1-15

FOCUS: “And go quickly, and tell his disciples that he is risen from the dead; and, behold, he goeth before you into Galilee; there shall ye see him: lo, I have told you.” (Matthew 28: 7)

MEMORY VERSE: “But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.” (Isaiah 40: 31)

In our Focal Scripture, the Angel of the Lord told the women to go quickly and tell the disciples of Jesus that He is risen. He instructed them to take a message to the disciples, but they needed to move quickly. Their execution of their assignment needed to be done quickly. Their movement away from the sepulcher to the place of their assignment was to be done quickly. Their transition from instruction to fulfillment was to be done quickly.

Friend, if God has given you a mandate, then move quickly. Arise from your mistakes quickly. Rise to your assignment quickly. Run towards your goals quickly. Make the changes you need to make quickly. Focus on your destiny mandate quickly. Focus on your life’s assignment quickly. Pay attention to what God wants you to start doing, quickly. Prioritize growing in wisdom, stature, and favour, quickly. Be quick with your mandate.

Even before mentioning that Jesus’ disciples needed to be told about His resurrection, the Angel of the Lord spoke of the need to go quickly. If you maintain a posture of delay, the Lord may not even be willing to unveil His plans for you. If you do not yet plan to go quickly, you just might be disqualifying yourself from the mandate that would have made you relevant in your generation. To go quickly is to hit the right target.

Quit the lifestyle of delays and needless procrastination. Stop putting off what can be done already. Stop delaying the important decisions you ought to have taken already. Stop imagining that you have all the time in the world to become all that you are meant to become. Stop imagining that you have all the time in the world to fulfill your destiny mandate. Stop delaying the fulfillment of your promises to God, and life’s assignment.

Arise, move quickly. Wherever you were walking, start running; where you are already running, start soaring. No more delays; go quickly.
