SCRIPTURE READING: MATTHEW 20: 1-16

FOCUS: “But he answered one of them, and said, Friend, I do thee no wrong: didst not thou agree with me for a penny?” (Matthew 20: 13)

MEMORY VERSE: “4. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. 5. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure.” (Psalm 2: 4-5)

In our Focal Scripture, the householder replied those labourers who protested against the favour and kindness he showed to the eleventh-hour employees. The householder chose to be nice to the people he hired at the eleventh hour, and those who were hired early in the day were not having it. They protested against the good fortune of those hired at the eleventh hour, but it was the householder himself that replied the protesters.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: when men arise against you and choose to speak against you, El Roi will answer to them. God will answer and silence every voice that is speaking against you. God will silence every voice that wants to scuttle the favour that is already coming your way. God will silence every voice of naysayers that say you will not have what is already coming to you. God will silence your opposers.

Those who were hired at the eleventh hour did not need to reply those who were offended by the favour they received from the householder. They remained silent and the householder took it upon himself to reply the opposers. In this season, you will not need to argue with, or reply your opposers. You will not need to exchange words with your haters. You will not need to prove a point to those who are offended by your rising.

It is telling though, that when the householder would choose to favour the labourers who were hired at the eleventh hour, those who were hired early in the day were not okay with it. Normalize the understanding that not everyone will be happy with your good news, not everyone will be happy that God remembered you, not everyone will be happy that God favoured you, but you simply can’t reply everyone who opposes your favour.

Welcome to that season where God Himself will reply every opposing voice against your favour. Welcome to that season where you will not need to reply your naysayers.
