SCRIPTURE READING: MARK 2: 1-12
FOCUS: “. And when they could not come nigh unto him for the press, they uncovered the roof where he was: and when they had broken it up, they let down the bed wherein the sick of the palsy lay.” (Mark 2: 4)
MEMORY VERSE: “By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.” (Romans 5: 2)
When the four friends of the paralytic man came to the house where Jesus was, the door was already blocked. People who also wanted to hear Jesus and see Him face to face, had filled the entire place so that there was no open door for anyone. Those four friends decided to try the roof where there was no one, and they got their friend to the feet of Jesus. They tried the roof, and they took their friend to where they wanted him to be.
Friend, when it seems that there are no open doors, there just might be space for you if you dare to go higher. There is a higher access to them that have come to Jesus. There are higher options available to you by reason of the covenant. There are higher levels of access that you can have by reason of the finished work of Christ. There are higher levels of access available to you irrespective of the doors that have been locked.
Men stopped those four friends from entering into the house by reason of filling the entire room and surroundings, but no one stopped them when they went through the roof. There was no opposition when they sought and used the higher level of access through the roof. There is no hindrance when you go through the throne of grace to obtain mercy. There is no blocker when you go through Christ and through His blood.
When Jesus shed His blood, the idea was to grant you access to the throne of grace, unhindered by anyone’s shenanigans. Jesus paid so that you won’t be stopped by the doors of men. By the finished work of Christ, step into the access you have in high places. Use your access in the place of prayer. Use your access in the blood of Jesus. Use your access to the throne of grace. Use your access via your walk with God.
The doors of men may be locked against you, but the throne of grace can never be locked against you. Don’t wait for the doors of men to be locked against you before you use the higher access you have in Christ.
