NO DISTRACTION

SCRIPTURE READING: 1 SAMUEL 17: 1-53
FOCUS: “And he stood and cried unto the armies of Israel, and said unto them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I a Philistine, and ye servants to Saul? choose you a man for you, and let him come down to me.” (1 Samuel 17: 8)
MEMORY VERSE: “For the Lord GOD will help me; therefore shall I not be confounded: therefore have I set my face like a flint, and I know that I shall not be ashamed.” (Isaiah 50: 7)
In our Focal Scripture, Goliath said, “Why are ye come out to set your battle in array”? He queried the idea of getting into the battle itself. He seemed to prefer that they stay away from fighting the battle. They were ready to fight, but Goliath didn’t want them to fight. They were ready to face the battle, but Goliath didn’t want that. They were ready to tear down the camp of the enemy, but Goliath was that voice that talked them out of it.
Friend, be careful with voices that talk you out of destiny. Be careful with voices that want you to abandon your destiny mandate. Be intentional to walk away from people who cause you to down tools. Be intentional to avoid those relationships that amplify the sound of weakness in destiny. Do not listen to that Goliath who is wondering why you have not given up yet. Be careful to stay away from voices that ask you to give up too soon.
There was victory waiting for the camp of Israel, but Goliath rather chose to talk them out of the battle that should lead to victory. The armies of Israel eventually took spoils from the Philistines. So, increase was waiting, results were waiting, but Goliath queried why they wanted to proceed. Those voices that are talking you out of your assignment, are also talking you out of future victories and the increase and results that should follow.
Even if all the voices around you are saying you should stand down, let the voice of the Spirit of God within you encourage you to keep going. Even if you feel like giving up, refuse to give up. Even if the Goliath’s of this world want you to believe that there is no hope of victory, keep pressing for your victory. Keep pressing even if the voices of discouragement are louder than voices of encouragement. Keep pressing. Reject the distractions.
Don’t be counted amongst them that were distracted out of their destiny mandate by the Goliath’s of this world. Don’t let anything or anyone cause you to down tools.
