SCRIPTURE READING: 1 KINGS 21: 1-29
FOCUS: “And there came in two men, children of Belial, and sat before him: and the men of Belial witnessed against him, even against Naboth, in the presence of the people, saying, Naboth did blaspheme God and the king. Then they carried him forth out of the city, and stoned him with stones, that he died.” (1 Kings 21: 13)
MEMORY VERSE: “Thou hast delivered me from the strivings of the people; and thou hast made me the head of the heathen: a people whom I have not known shall serve me.” (Psalm 18: 43)
It is instructive to observe that in bible times, especially amongst the Jews, there was often a public trial which could lead to imprisonment or public execution. It happened to Stephen (see Acts 6, 7); it happened to Paul (see Acts 12); it happened to Paul and Silas (see Acts 16). The idea was for people to proclaim guilt upon the accused. Notice that Naboth was set before the people, and eventually killed by the people, because of Jezebel.
The spirit of Jezebel is that spirit that wants to make you a victim of the people. The spirit of Jezebel is that spirit that wants to cause people to execute wickedness against you. The spirit of Jezebel is that spirit that knows you are innocent, but yet sets people against you to achieve wicked goals. The spirit of Jezebel is that spirit that wants you to go down as a public victim. The Jezebels of this world want to make you a victim.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: in 2026 and beyond, you will not be a victim. You will not be a victim of the people. You will not be a victim of wicked multitudes. You will not be a victim of collective wickedness. You will not be a victim of poor judgements. You will not be a victim for what you did not do. You will not be a victim for crimes you did not commit. You will not be a victim of spiritual wickedness in high places.
Elders and nobles teamed up with the people to make Naboth a victim. He was stoned to death. His blood was spilled on the ground, not because of sickness or natural disaster, but because of the wickedness of men. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not die by the wickedness of men. The earth will not receive your body, or your blood, or your bones, because of the wickedness of men. You will not die as a victim of other men.
The judgement of God is set against the wickedness of the wicked. They will not prevail against you. They will not cause you needless harm. Their poor and wicked judgement will not be your nemesis.
