SCRIPTURE READING: 1 KINGS 19: 1-8, 18
FOCUS: “1. And Ahab told Jezebel all that Elijah had done, and withal how he had slain all the prophets with the sword. 2. Then Jezebel sent a messenger unto Elijah, saying, So let the gods do to me, and more also, if I make not thy life as the life of one of them by to morrow about this time.” (1 Kings 19: 1-2)
MEMORY VERSE: “Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.” (2 Corinthians 2: 14)
In our Focal Scripture, Jezebel sent a message to Elijah and threatened to make his life like the life of one of the prophets of Baal whom he had killed upon Mount Carmel. Elijah had prevailed over the prophets of Baal, but the one who fed the prophets of Baal, went after Elijah, to defeat him. The system over which Elijah had prevailed, wanted to make him a victim. Jezebel offered defeat in a matter for which there had been victory.
The spirit of Jezebel is that spirit that causes a pushback in the same places where you have won before. The spirit of Jezebel is that spirit that says you must lose in the same places where you won in time past. The spirit of Jezebel is that spirit that wants to make you a victim in the same places where you were victorious in time past. The spirit of Jezebel is that spirit that wants to make you suffer where you once prevailed in time past.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: every Jezebel that wants you to lose in the same places where you secured victory in time past, I decree, let fire answer. Let the hand of the Lord be stretched against every Jezebel that says you will cry in the same places where you once laughed. Let the hand of the Lord go against every Jezebel that says you will be defeated in places you won before. Let the Lord strike every Jezebel that wants to defeat you.
Hear me as I hear the Lord: you will not move from victory to defeat. You will not move from success to failure. You will not move from rising to falling. You will not move from greatness to obscurity. You will not move from high places to low places. You will not be mocked in the same places where you were once celebrated. The place of your past testimony will not become the place of fresh afflictions. You will not witness a reversal of fortune.
Welcome to that season where every past victory will lead to more victories. Welcome to that season where you will not move from victory to defeat.
