SCRIPTURE READING: LUKE 8: 41-56
FOCUS: “While he yet spake, there cometh one from the ruler of the synagogue’s house, saying to him, Thy daughter is dead; trouble not the Master.” (Luke 8: 49)
MEMORY VERSE: “I will overturn, overturn, overturn, it: and it shall be no more, until he come whose right it is; and I will give it him.” (Ezekiel 21: 27)
As Jairus spoke to Jesus about his daughter who was at the point of death, news came from his residence that the young girl had died. Jairus contacted Jesus, and his situation simply went from bad to worse. He contacted Jesus, and things got more complicated. He contacted Jesus, and it seemed that his situation just got worse. He contacted Jesus, and things seemed to become more difficult. He touched heaven and it became tougher.
Friend, the evidence that you have touched heaven is that sometimes, what was difficult might just become more difficult. Sometimes, as you pray, it would seem that the enemy is heightening his attacks on you. It doesn’t mean that your prayers are not working; it simply means that you actually touched heaven. As you exercise your faith in anticipation of what God would do, don’t be discouraged if it seems that battles are getting tougher.
The fact that Jairus met Jesus, and his daughter still died, does not mean that he met the wrong Jesus. The fact that negativity may indeed be getting more complicated does not mean that you are not yet hitting at the doors of heaven rightly. The fact that some issues are getting more complicated does not mean that God is not hearing your cries. The fact that your results do not match your expectations, does not mean that God is asleep.
Notice that eventually, everything turned around, and the same girl who had died, came back to life. Everything turned around, and the negative evidence that Jairus initially saw, gave way to great news. Hear me as I hear the Lord: whatever negative reality that suggests to you that God is not hearing you yet, is about to turn around. That bad news is turning around. That situation is turning around. You will soon dance around for joy.
Welcome to that season where the evidence of your knocks on the doors of heaven will manifest. Welcome to that season where everything will turn around.
