SCRIPTURE READING: LUKE 8: 26-39
FOCUS: “When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.” (Luke 8: 28)
MEMORY VERSE: “According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:” (2 Peter 1: 3)
When Jesus crossed over into the country of the Gadarenes, the man who was demon possessed went to bow to Him, and he cried out and queried if Jesus had come to torment him. That man was possessed by demons; powers of darkness operated in him; but when Jesus arrived, the powers in him bowed to Jesus. Jesus came into a territory, and without invitation, satanic powers in the territory bowed to Him.
Friend, like Jesus, walk in power. Walk with the authority that heaven has bestowed on you. Walk with the fulness of the Godhead in you. Walk with that same power that raised Jesus from the dead. Walk in the consciousness of the power of God that is resident within you. Walk with the audacity of one that has been empowered by El Roi. Make your environment have a feel of the power of God at work in you. Use the power.
Notice that Jesus did not call out to the demons. They just saw that He had turned up, and ran to Him to bow. A higher power came to the territory, and the lower powers of hell went to pay homage. If you grow in the manifestation of the power of God, powers of hell in your territory will bow to you. When you step in, powers of darkness will know that you have come. Pray the power of God in you into flames of fire.
The dominion mandate given in Genesis 1 vs. 26, was over the birds of the air, the fishes of the sea, and everything that creeps on the earth. It was dominion over things. When Jesus turned up, He gave His disciples power against unclean spirits (Matthew 10 vs. 1); and He gave them authority to trample upon snakes and scorpions and every power of the enemy (see Luke 10 vs. 19). The New Testament concept of dominion is about power.
Don’t accept to live a life that is devoid of the power of God. Never be too shy to use the power of God at work in you. Stir up the power of God in you. Don’t confront demons with mere words; turn up with power. Subdue your environment with power.
