SCRIPTURE READING: ACTS 16: 16-39
FOCUS: “And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them.” (Acts 16: 25)
MEMORY VERSE: “Again I say unto you, That if two of you shall agree on earth as touching any thing that they shall ask, it shall be done for them of my Father which is in heaven.” (Matthew 18: 19)
Our Focal Scripture speaks of how Paul and Silas prayed and sang praises unto God. It was not only the praise and prayers of Paul alone, or Silas alone. They were united in both praising and praying. They praised in agreement, and they also prayed in agreement and God heard them. They joined their faith together to praise and to pray. They joined their faith together to knock on the doors of heaven. They prayed and praised in agreement.
Friend, there are times when you may need to join your faith with others to pray and to praise. There are prison doors and prison gates and even chains that you need to break while in agreement with others. There are times when you need to quit chasing a thousand and join faith with someone else to chase tens of thousands. There are roadblocks you will need to join faith with someone to clear. There are results that will come with agreement.
Paul and Silas were together and were both in agreement with the prayers and praises unto God. There was no dissenting voice as they prayed and praised. Be intentional to walk in the company of those who are in agreement with what you agree with. Walk with people who agree with your prayers. Walk with people who agree with you to believe God for anything at all. Walk with people who will increase, not decrease, your faith.
There will be times when you need to intentionally add to yourself a company of those who want to chase after God as you. You need the company of those who believe God as you do. You need the company of those who want heaven’s intervention the same way you want it. You need the company of those who know that God can turn things around and believe same like you. You need those you will be in agreement with.
Remember, they both agreed in prayers, and heaven heard them and turned up in a spectacular manner. Dare to pray and praise in agreement, and heaven will turn up.
