SCRIPTURE READING: LUKE 8: 26-39

FOCUS: “And there was there an herd of many swine feeding on the mountain: and they besought him that he would suffer them to enter into them. And he suffered them.” (Luke 8: 32)

MEMORY VERSE: “Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,” (2 Corinthians 6: 17)

While Jesus confronted the legion of demons that invaded the life of the man in our Scripture Reading, mention was made of a herd of many swine feeding on the mountain. At the time of these events in scripture, Israel had a subsisting instruction from God to have nothing to do with swine (see Leviticus 11 vs. 7). Swine was considered unclean, but some people decided to go all the way to the mountain to rear swine.

Friend, if you find yourself at the mountain top, please do not rear swine. If you rise to your high places, be careful not to make your life an abode for uncleanness and negativity. If you rise in your destiny placement, do not make the mistake of enthroning the same things that God Himself has outlawed. If you find yourself on levels that are higher than normal, do not make the mistake of creating a platform for negativity to gain traction.

Some people chose to do what was outlawed, and they took their audacity to the mountain top. They did not even choose where they could be hidden; they chose to advertise the negativity they got engaged in. In all your doings, never make the mistake of giving uncleanness a front row seat. In all your doings, never make the mistake of allow wrongdoing to become a public spectacle. If you would make certain mistakes, make them in private!

Mountains are symbolic of heights; they are symbolic of elevation; they are symbolic of visibility. So, the herders of the swine in our Focal Scripture took their lawlessness to high places; they took their wrong actions to a place of visibility; they took their mistakes to the place of elevation. By the mercies of the Lord, I beseech you, do not take negativity to the place of visibility. Do not take wrong doing to your high places.

Those that operate on the mountain ought not to rear swine. Those who operate in high places ought not to become advertisers and merchants of uncleanness.
