SCRIPTURE READING: GENESIS 16: 1-15

FOCUS: “And the angel of the LORD said unto her, Behold, thou art with child, and shalt bear a son, and shalt call his name Ishmael; because the LORD hath heard thy affliction.” (Genesis 16: 11)

MEMORY VERSE: “Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.” (John 14: 23)

In our Focal Scripture, the Angel of the Lord instructed Hagar to call the name of her son Ishmael. Hagar was to bring forth a result; she was to bring forth an offspring; a proclamation of exceeding multiplication had even gone forth concerning her offspring; but the Angel of the Lord was mindful to instruct her on the name she would give to her son. The Angel of the Lord had instructions on the identity of her forthcoming result.

Friend, as you position for the birthing of major results, be intentional to follow divine instructions that will preserve your results. As God opens the doors of your rising and increase, be intentional to follow the instructions of heaven concerning what you have been given. Be intentional to still listen to God after He has made all things beautiful for you. Be intentional to remain obedient when God would have made a way for you.

El Roi guaranteed the birthing of a son for Hagar, but the same El Roi was intentional to give instructions that Hagar must obey as she receives her results. The same God that released a blessing, was quick to release instructions that will give an identity to the blessing He gave. If you desire to enjoy longevity in the blessings of God upon your life, then be intentional to also seek the divine instructions that come with your blessings.

Hagar eventually had her son, and she did not forget to follow the instructions given her by the Angel of the Lord. She carried her evidence, but did not fail to follow the instructions of the One who released her evidence. Don’t be counted amongst them that are available to receive from God but never faithful to walk by the instructions of Him that released the blessings. As God blesses you this year, remain in obedience to Him.

Receiving blessings without receiving and obeying the instructions that will preserve the blessings will make you lose what you received from God.
