SCRIPTURE READING: GENESIS 16: 1-15
FOCUS: “And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, Thou God seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after him that seeth me?” (Genesis 16: 13)
MEMORY VERSE: “When my father and my mother forsake me, then the LORD will take me up.” (Psalm 27: 10)
Prior to our Focal Scripture, Hagar had got into error by despising her mistress Sarai. Hagar was earlier accepted as a wife to bear children for Abraham, but her error led to her rejection. She fled the home of Abraham because she had been rejected, but right in the wilderness, when she was out of the sight of those who rejected her, El Roi saw her and came to her rescue. She moved from rejection to being seen by El Roi.
Friend, I pray for you: when men reject you, the eyes of El Roi will see you. When men say no to you, you will get the attention of El Roi. When men close doors for you, El Roi will set before you an open door. When men shut you out and exclude you from the scheme of things, you will be included in the plans of heaven. When you are pushed out, El Roi will bring you in and closer to Himself. When men refuse you, El Roi will be waiting to accept.
The rejection of Sarah and Abraham caused Hagar to find herself in that place where the eyes of El Roi were fixed on her. She was rejected by men only to be looked upon by the God who sees her. In 2025, the rejection of men will be a set up for the intervention of El Roi. When men fail you, El Roi will turn up for you on a new level. When men orchestrate a chain of events to dislocate you from your place, El Roi will turn it in your favour.
Don’t lose sleep when men reject you. They just might be pushing you closer to being seen by El Roi. There is a God who pays special attention on those who have been rejected by men that He may show them mercy and keep His eyes on them. There is a God who favours the weak and rejected, and keeps them safe from the wishes of those who rejected them. There is a God who is not as wicked as those who rejected you.
Welcome to that year where the rejection of men will open the chapters of divine acceptance. Welcome to that season where El Roi will upgrade you when men reject you.
