SCRIPTURE READING: PSALM 23: 1-6
FOCUS: “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.” (Psalm 23: 1)
MEMORY VERSE: “With long life will I satisfy him, and shew him my salvation.” (Psalm 91: 16)
In our Focal Scripture, the psalmist declared that the Lord is his shepherd, and that he shall not want. The word ‘want’ as used in that scripture, comes from a Hebrew word ‘chacer’ (pronounced khaw-sare). Another meaning of ‘chacer’ is ‘bereave’. So, the psalmist inferred that because the Lord is his shepherd, he will not be bereaved. The psalmist inferred that the Lord is able to stop him from losing those connected to him.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: because the Lord is your shepherd, you will not be bereaved. You will not lose those connected to you. You will not bury and you will not be buried. The earth will not swallow the flesh of those connected to you. The earth will not receive the blood of those connected to you. The earth will not receive your body or the bodies of your loved ones until you say so. You will not be bereaved against your wish.
Every power of hell that is speaking death in your dwelling, let the fire of God answer. Every enchantment of the enemy that says you must bury or be buried, I decree, it will not stand. Every snare of death that the enemy has set for you and those connected to you, you will escape the same way a bird escapes from the snare of the fowler. Every satanic divination that wants to make your life expire ahead of time, let it scatter by fire.
Your life is hid in Christ, and Christ in God. The hand of the enemy will not be able to touch you or your loved ones. God will satisfy you and those connected to you with long life. There shall be no infant of days. You won’t be cut short. As 2024 gradually makes way for 2025, you won’t be counted amongst them that faded away. You and your family members will not have your obituaries published in the remaining part of this year.
Welcome to that season where the door of bereavement will remain closed. Welcome to that season where death will not prevail in your dwelling.
