SCRIPTURE READING: LUKE 15: 11-32

FOCUS: “And bring hither the fatted calf, and kill it; and let us eat, and be merry:” (Luke 15: 23)

MEMORY VERSE: “Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing: then said they among the heathen, The LORD hath done great things for them.” (Psalm 126: 2)

Our Focal Scripture speaks of the moment when the father of the prodigal son ordered that the fatted calf be brought and killed, so that they all could eat and be merry. The fatted calf, in bible times, was that calf that was deliberately fed to become really fat so that it could be killed for a major celebration. So, what the father of the prodigal son ordered for, was a major celebration. The prodigal son received a major celebration.

Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: welcome to your season of major celebrations. That sort of celebration that happens when only a big thing has come your way, is about to happen for you. You are about to kill that ‘fatted calf’. You are about to celebrate like never before. You are about to celebrate in a manner that will make even your haters to be angry with you. You are about to witness events that will elicit celebrations.

What the father of the prodigal son ordered for, was not a minor celebration. He ordered for a major celebration. He ordered for that celebration that requires a fatted calf to be killed. He called for a celebration that comes with intense merriment. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you are about to witness that celebration that comes with intense merriment. There will be dancing and sounds of mega celebrations in your dwelling very soon.

Because of the good news of one man, several men were caught up in major celebrations. Hear me as I hear the Lord: you are that one man whose good news will cause many to celebrate. You are that one that will elicit dances of joy and sounds of celebration. You are that one in whose dwelling the sound of mourning will not be heard. You are that one in whose dwelling there would be no bitter tears. It’s major celebration only.

Welcome to your season of major celebrations. Welcome to that season where heaven will cause you to enjoy celebrations that will cause other men to celebrate.
