SCRIPTURE READING: LUKE 1: 5-25, 57-66

FOCUS: “But the angel said unto him, Fear not, Zacharias: for thy prayer is heard; and thy wife Elisabeth shall bear thee a son, and thou shalt call his name John.” (Luke 1: 13)

MEMORY VERSE: “Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.” (1 Corinthians 4: 2)

It is important to observe that Zachariah was at his duty post when the angel showed up and announced that his wife would have a child who should bear the name of John. Zachariah was already old and stricken in years, but that didn’t stop him from remaining in the service of the temple. Advancement in age did not reduce the commitment of Zachariah. Times and seasons changed, but Zachariah remained at his duty post.

Friend, glean some wisdom for Zachariah: do not let your advancement in age to hinder your service to God. Do not let the times and seasons that are changing, to change your commitment to God. Do not allow how favourable or unfavourable a season is, to determine how you will serve or worship God. Do not allow your body to determine when you will show up in the temple. Do not allow age to steal your hunger and passion for God.

Notice that the same age that could not stop Zachariah’s service to God, did not also stop his miracle when heaven showed up. He served God despite his age, and his miracle came despite his age. If you dare to serve God despite your age, miracles will keep coming your way despite your age. If times and seasons do not hinder your service and commitment to God, they also will not hinder the flow of heaven’s resources in your direction.

Make a commitment to remain consistent in season and out of season. Remain prayerful whether your prayers have been answered or not answered. Remain committed to God whether it has paid off or not paid off. Remain consistent whether it is fashionable or not to remain so. Remain at your duty post even when it makes sense not to be there. Let the miracles you are yet to receive not stop you from doing all you should for God.

Remember, if times and seasons do not reduce your service, then times and seasons will not stand in the way of your miracle.
