SCRIPTURE READING: LUKE 1: 5-25, 57-66
FOCUS: “And her neighbours and her cousins heard how the Lord had shewed great mercy upon her; and they rejoiced with her.” (Luke 1: 58)
MEMORY VERSE: “And therefore will the LORD wait, that he may be gracious unto you, and therefore will he be exalted, that he may have mercy upon you: for the LORD is a God of judgment: blessed are all they that wait for him.” (Isaiah 30: 18)
Our Focal Scripture speaks of how the neighbours and cousins of Elizabeth heard how the Lord showed great mercy upon her. She received a major miracle by the mercy of God. She was already old and well stricken in years; her body was probably too old for the miracle she received, but the mercies of God made it happen. The Lord showed her mercies and she received what looked impossible. Her miracle came by the mercy of God.
Friend, hear me as I hear the Lord: you are about to become a recipient of the mercies of God. By the mercies of El Roi, long standing challenges are giving way. By the mercies of El Roi, what you prayed for is becoming your evidence. By the mercies of El Roi, your water is turning to wine. By the mercies of El Roi, the dayspring from on high will visit you. By the mercies of El Roi, your tears will be wiped away. Mercy will speak for you.
When mercy came the way of Elizabeth, she that was called barren conceived and bore her own son. When the mercy of El Roi came her way, she received a miracle that provoked celebrations and congratulations. Hear me as I hear the Lord: by the mercies of El Roi, your story is about to change; by the mercies of El Roi, what you already gave up on, will become your reality; by the mercies of El Roi, you will not remain on the same level.
When mercy speaks, negative stories are rewritten. When mercy speaks, all doors and gates are swung open. When mercy speaks, doors of celebration and congratulations are made open. When mercy speaks, what seemed impossible becomes possible. When mercy speaks, rejection makes way for acceptance. When mercy speaks, no is replaced with yes. When mercy speaks, heaven births uncommon results for mortality.
Welcome to your season where great mercy will speak on your behalf. Welcome to that season where the mercies of God will make happen for you what you cannot make happen for yourself.
