SCRIPTURE READING: 1 KINGS 18: 40-46

FOCUS: “And Elijah said unto Ahab, Get thee up, eat and drink; for there is a sound of abundance of rain.” (1 Kings 18: 41)

MEMORY VERSE: “Who hath heard such a thing? who hath seen such things? Shall the earth be made to bring forth in one day? or shall a nation be born at once? for as soon as Zion travailed, she brought forth her children.” (Isaiah 66: 8)

In our Focal Scripture, Elijah announced to Ahab that there is a sound of abundance of rain. The rain was yet to fall, the rain was yet to be seen, but Elijah proclaimed that there was already a sound of abundance of rain. Ahab could not see it, but Elijah had heard it. Elijah proclaimed what was yet to happen. He spoke about it as though it already happened. Elijah could hear the sound of the rain that was on the way.

Friend, God may have spoken to you about the rain that is coming, but it is high time you heard the sound of the abundance of rain. Let your ears be open to hear what God has promised. Let your mouth proclaim what God is set to make happen. Let the eyes of your spirit man be open to see what people around you are yet to see. Go beyond your human calculations and begin to proclaim what your physical eyes are yet to see.

In the realm of confession and prophetic proclamation, reasoning does not come in. If God has spoken, you don’t need to see it before you proclaim it. If God has spoken, declare it like it has already happened. If God has said it, speak about it like one who is sure that it will come to pass. Proclaim the word of the Lord like it has already become your reality. Keep speaking the word of the Lord even if you are yet to see how it will happen.

Elijah spoke about the rain in present tense, and the rain came on the same day. He spoke about the rain as though it was already happening, and heaven made sure to make the rain come sooner than later. As you proclaim the word of the Lord, heaven will be faithful to bring it to pass sooner than later. As you declare the word of the Lord, it will become your reality before you know it. The word you declare will birth your results speedily.

Be intentional to proclaim the word of the Lord. Hear the sound of the abundance of rain even if you cannot yet see the rain. As you proclaim the word of the Lord, you will move from declaration to results.
