SCRIPTURE READING: JUDGES 16: 1-31
FOCUS: “And it came to pass afterward, that he loved a woman in the valley of Sorek, whose name was Delilah.” (Judges 16: 4)
MEMORY VERSE: “Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.” (2 Timothy 2: 19)
Our Focal Scripture speaks of the encounter between Samson and Delilah. Samson had encountered different women until he met Delilah, the woman who eventually made his destiny reduce to rubbles. Samson decided to fall in love with the same woman who had the capacity to destroy him. Samson chose to love what would later destroy him. Samson chose to love and be in alignment with what would reduce his destiny to rubbles.
Friend, may it never be said that you were in love with what would eventually destroy you. May it never be said that you fell in love with habits that are waiting to make a mess of your destiny. May it never be said that you fell in love with people whose agenda is to represent hell and ultimately make you lose your place in destiny. May it never be said that your season of exploits came to an end because you found a Delilah in Sorek.
Samson was a warrior for Israel, but he was not captured in a war situation. He was simply sold to his enemies through the woman he said he loved. He loved who he should never have loved, and it became the pointer to his destruction. You would be making major destiny mistakes if what you love is against the agenda of heaven for your life. You would be setting yourself up for destruction if you choose to love your downfall.
When God wants to bless a man, He sends a man; and when the enemy wants to reduce a man, he sends a man. Delilah was that woman that was positioned to waste the destiny of Samson. Ask the Lord to cure you of every appetite for the things that will destroy you. Ask the Lord to cure you of every appetite for the ‘Delilah’s of this world. Ask the Lord to kill every appetite in you that wants what will push you out of the will of God.
Don’t be too quick to love that ‘Delilah’. Don’t be in a hurry to desire the messenger of your destiny reduction.
