SCRIPTURE READING: LUKE 1: 5-25, 57-66

FOCUS: “And the people waited for Zacharias, and marvelled that he tarried so long in the temple.” (Luke 1: 21)

MEMORY VERSE: “It is the Lord who directs your life, for each step you take is ordained by God to bring you closer to your destiny. So much of your life, then, remains a mystery!” (Proverbs 20: 24 TPT)

As Zachariah interfaced with the angel, people who were at the temple wondered that he spent a long time in the temple. Zachariah’s encounter took time; he seemed delayed in the temple, but the men who were outside had no idea that this delay was because his time had come and a miracle was about to happen. They had no idea that heaven was realigning him for good. They had no idea that he was being divinely realigned.

Friend, it is high time you asked the Lord to realign your destiny for the things that are yet to come. Let your thoughts be realigned; let your commitments be realigned; let your choices be realigned to match heaven’s desire; let your appetite be realigned; have more conversations with heaven; open your heart to the desires of God for your life; devote yourself to communing with God and understanding His will for you.

God was not about to send a blessing to Zechariah without first repositioning him for what was to come. God was not about to give him a miracle that had generational implications without first preparing him for the new. Your new may not come until God has separated and prepared you for it. You may not enter the new until God has brought you to the place of disconnecting from the old, no matter how many people love the old.

Zachariah may have had a timeline for the burning of incense in the temple, but when the time was exceeded, those who didn’t understand what was going on, thought he was delaying himself. Sometimes, what men call delay, is simply a preparation for what heaven is about to bring. Sometimes, you may not move as fast as you would wish, because heaven is not done with making you whom you are supposed to become.

Ask God to reposition and realign your destiny. Ask God to prepare you for the new things He is about to do.
