SCRIPTURE READING: 2 KINGS 9: 1-13

FOCUS: “And thou shalt smite the house of Ahab thy master, that I may avenge the blood of my servants the prophets, and the blood of all the servants of the LORD, at the hand of Jezebel.” (2 Kings 9: 7)

MEMORY VERSE: “And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.” (Isaiah 30: 21)

In our Focal Scripture, the son of the prophet told Jehu what was expected of him as he ascended to the throne of the king of Israel. The oil that was poured on Jehu marked his transition into a new level of royalty, and the son of the prophet let him know what heaven expected of him. Jehu was to smite the house of Ahab. He was to exact vengeance on the house of Ahab. He was given a clear direction as he entered into his new season.

Friend, I pray for you: as you enter your new season, may God open your eyes to see the direction that will take you to distinction. As you arrive at your new season, may heaven cause you to have insight into the expectations and direction you need to take to meet heaven’s expectations. As you arrive at your new season, may God cause you to see the way to go. As you arrive at your new season, may you never miss your way.

God did not only bring Jehu to the brink of greatness and kingship; He also made sure to show him what should matter and what direction he should take while on the throne. It’s not enough to desire to enter into your new season; you might need to ask God what His will is for you in that new season. You need to be directed by El Roi as He opens new doors for you. You need to be divinely directed as you arrive at your throne.

Divine direction implies that there is a direction that heaven wants you to go to. It also implies that there are directions that heaven does not expect you to voyage into. As God brings you to your new season, be careful to know that there are movements that will not advance your destiny. As God positions you for influence and impact, be careful to know that there are pathways that will not add value to your destiny mandate.

Welcome to that season where God’s direction will never elude you. Welcome to that season where heaven will show you the way to go.
