SCRIPTURE READING: MATTHEW 2: 1-18
FOCUS: “And being warned of God in a dream that they should not return to Herod, they departed into their own country another way.” (Matthew 2: 12)
MEMORY VERSE: “For the wisdom of this world is foolishness with God. For it is written, He taketh the wise in their own craftiness.” (1 Corinthians 3: 19)
Our Focal Scripture captures that moment when the wise men were warned in a dream to avoid Herod, and they ended up leaving for their country through another way. They came through a particular direction but when it was time to go, God revealed to them the need to use another way. They were wise men, but they came to a point where mere knowledge and information was not enough, and they went for divine direction.
Friend, knowledge and information is never enough to make a man wise. No man is wise enough who has not logged into the portals of divine direction. No man is wise enough who has not aligned himself with what God is revealing. No man is wise enough with knowledge and information but lacking in divine information and direction. The wisdom of the wise men made room for heaven to show them what to do.
Any wisdom that excludes the direction from God is tantamount to foolishness. At some point, human wisdom will fail and only divine direction will suffice. At some point, you won’t get the results you desire if you rely only on human wisdom. At some point, there will be challenges and situations that you cannot resolve with mere human wisdom. There is a limit to what human wisdom will do for you. Human wisdom is limited.
In all your wisdom, always seek for divine direction. Ask God to open your eyes to see what men would ordinarily not see. Ask God to direct you as you make career choices. Ask God to open your eyes to see as you take major destiny steps. Ask God to reveal His will for you. Ask God to show you the way to go. Ask God to save you from danger by opening your eyes to see things before they happen. Ask God for divine direction.
Remember, the wise men were saved from Herod’s onslaught because they were warned in a dream by God Himself. Welcome to that season where heaven will warn and direct you in dreams and visions.
