SCRIPTURE READING: JUDGES 16: 1-31
FOCUS: “And Samson lay till midnight, and arose at midnight, and took the doors of the gate of the city, and the two posts, and went away with them, bar and all, and put them upon his shoulders, and carried them up to the top of an hill that is before Hebron.” (Judges 16: 3)
MEMORY VERSE: “See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise,” (Ephesians 5: 15)
Prior to our Focal Scripture, Samson had come to Gaza and found a harlot. This was the same Samson who was meant to be a Nazarite unto the Lord (see Judges 13 vs. 5). This was the same Samson whose destiny mandate was to continually defeat the Philistines. There was an assignment on the life of Samson, but he moved from finding a harlot in Gaza to loving another woman in Sorek. Samson was evidently distracted from his mission.
Friend, the glory of divine strength abhors some relationships. When a man is bestowed with the strength of God, he is not expected to be like everyone. A man who knows what he carries, must be wise enough to stay away from those who will drain him of strength. Break away from relationships that scuttle the grace that heaven has released upon your life. Break away from every relationship that compromises your greatness.
Samson was chosen by God, to defeat the enemies of the people of God, but he let relationships that were not needed in his life to ruin the greatness that God ordained for him. Do not allow relationships you do not need, to ruin the greatness that heaven already ordained for you. Don’t grant access to people who give access to the enemy into your life. Don’t make room for those who will leave no room for your capacity.
The same way some relationships drain you of strength, there are relationships that capacitate you with strength. Ask God to show you the men whose lives will usher in strength into your life. Ask God to show you the men with whom you may tag along. Ask God to show you the men whose lives can offer you strength in your moments of weakness. Ask God to bring you relationships that will multiply the strength in your inner man.
Discern the relationships you need and those who no longer need, and act accordingly. Don’t let the enemy use needless relationships to strip you of strength.
