SCRIPTURE READING: LUKE 8: 26-39
FOCUS: “When he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down before him, and with a loud voice said, What have I to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God most high? I beseech thee, torment me not.” (Luke 8: 28)
MEMORY VERSE: “Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” (Ephesians 6: 11)
Our Focal Scripture speaks of how the demon possessed man came to Jesus and protested, asking what he had to do with Jesus. The demon possessed man besought Jesus not to torment him. Jesus had merely entered into the city, He didn’t even come because of the demon possessed man, but the demons were protesting and asking not to be touched. Jesus didn’t come for the demons, but they came for him, agitated and irritated.
Friend, did you know that the presence of God in you unsettles the kingdom of hell? Did you know that the Spirit of God which dwells in you, makes you a target of the enemy? Did you know that demons are agitated by your presence and prayers? Did you know that there are messengers from the pit of hell, assigned to confront you and possibly make you lose sight of your destiny mandate? Did you know that the power of God in you makes you an enemy of the purveyors of hell’s agenda?
As you show up each day, be ready for spiritual warfare. Be ready to take on the gates of hell. Be ready to confront and conquer the powers of darkness. Be ready to subdue the satanic arrangements that have been made against you. Be ready to trample on snakes and scorpions and every power of the enemy. Be ready to dominate over the powers of hell. Be ready to defeat satanic conspiracies. Be ready to reverse evil arrows shot at you.
Jesus did not abandon His mission because demons came His way. He simply defeated them. Treat every demonic confrontation against you as a battle to be won. Treat the demons as entities to be defeated. Recognize that the power of God in you entitles you to some satanic opposition, which may not come to people who are not loaded with the power of God as you. Crush the enemy and give him no space in your domain.
Remember, the power of God at work in you irritates, agitates and horrifies the demons of hell. Be willing to defeat them, but do not let them distract you.
